-->> The Cbox

Here on Arvandor, we have an premium, or upgraded, c-box. I know that quite a few of you may not be familiar with how it words, the special features, etc., I put together this guide to help you. I also included a section to go over the rules with you, and, if possible, provide some examples.

* Section 1; The Rules
As those who go from site to site may now, C-box rules are not always the same. Now, to aid in one's confusion, here is a break down of the rules.

x No Flooding.
What is considered flooding, exactly. Well, think of it this way, when you have to much water in your basement, it is referred to as a flood. Now, if you have too much posts in the C-box, it is also referred to as flooding. So, let's say, for example, I was to post twice in a row. Each post was a decent length and were not the same. That is considered okay. Even if I were to make three posts, or even four, that would still be okay (however, if I were you, I'd try to stay away from making four posts in a row, unless, you find it absolutely necessary).

Now, what is not okay? Three, four or more pointless posts in a row. This can also extend to posting the same thing, two to three times, in a row, or where they are all visible. For example, on another site I go on, someone was trying to get us to look at their misc. adoptables. The C-box was moving slow that day, so there was only about one post every five to six minutes. Every fifteen minutes, they posted their advertisement. This is considered flooding, and is bad.

x No Excessive Swearing.
Now, excessive basically means to much, and you all should know the definition of swearing. I'd rather not post examples for this, because I myself do not curse a lot, and if I do, it usually is on accident. However, to give you a basic idea, I will tell you this; The f-word about seven times in a row would most likely be considered a no-no.

x No Advertising.
Now, advertising is fairly simple, no? Do not advertise your roleplaying sites in the C-box. We even have a whole board available for that, so I recommend using that. Also, do not advertise that you are looking for a mate for your wolf in the C-box. I've seen it on other sites, and it gets plain annoying. Besides, by doing that not only do you break the Advertising rule, but you break the despertem rule, which can be found on the I. Roleplaying page in the section for Laws.

x Do not overuse Caplock and singe characters/symbols.
If anything, this is one of my favorite rules. I can not tell you how annoying it is to see someone go, "Fweeeeeeeee!!!!!!!! LOOK AT ME!!!! I'm a FAIRY PIXIE UNICORN!!!! I"M SO COOL!" But they're not. Honestly, how annoying would you think it gets? Sure, once in awhile your Cap's button breaks, or, you didn't know it was on, but then you correct yourself. Here, it was obvious it was no mistake. Plus, you do not need to capitalize things when you are shouting, or simply use more then one exclamation point. This, '!', at the end of the sentence tells me exactly how you feel. No caps, no excessive punctuation, just one old punctuation mark and we all move on.

x Be polite
This, obviously, is self explanatory.

x Keep fights to PM's
Yes, thank you. This is important, because let's say someone I really dislike gets into a fight with someone else I really dislike. Now, they start cursing each other out in the public eye, and that's not really what I want to see. To be honest, it can make outsiders dislike you even more if you don't. Not only that, but you put on an image for the site that is not wanted. You see, if you want the site to stay alive so we can all roleplay here until we die, then you should let people see how nice we really are. Also, I'm thinking about this more, I would not really like to here other peoples' battles, especially when I am in a good mood.

* Section 2; Using the Cbox

Alright, you've read and understand all of the rules above/beside the C-box. Now you can finally enter the exciting thing we call, "Socializing on Arvandor." We all like to do it, make a new friend, go to bed with that warm fuzzy feeling. Well, to be honest, you need to also know some other good pointers before actually posting.
1) It's wise to set up an account with the C-box. Now, you can save your avatar image to that account, and have it when you log on from all over the world! That's special, isn't it? You see, to do this you go to the first box, the name box. Following the rule above, you enter your main character's first name in. Once that is all done, go over to the link under the 'Go' button and click [Profile]. It will then get your to password protect your name. Once you finish that, and click the enter/submit button, you have created your account! It then automatically logs you in, and you're good to go.

2) An image for your name is also known as your avatar. The size for it is 45 pixels by 45 pixels wide. Normally, one uses their main charrie's image. They then cut out their favorite part of the picture using one of their high-tech programs such as MS Paint, like myself. The next step is very important, so make sure you pay attention or it could mess everything up! Once the image is saved to your computer, you should go to tinypic.com to upload your image! Once you get the url (not if the form of any kind of code) you need to paste it in the URL/Email box to the right of your name box. Then, make a post with this image, and everything should go okay! Now, your image is saved to your account, and you will always have it.

3) Logging into your account, logging out of your account, and logging in from another computer. Personally, I like to go on the laptop when my house is really cold, and snuggle in the blankets downstairs. Only thing is, some of you might think that I can't log in from there, unless I log out from my other computer... wrong. When you log in from another computer, it automatically logs you out from the one you were last on. That's pretty spiffy, eh? Then, when you go back to your normal computer, you just have to log back in. How you do this is by typing in the same name you password protected. Then you click profile, enter your passowrd, and log in! How simple is that?

* Section 3; Helpful Hints

The C-box can get pretty scary for some people, espcially if they are shy. Now, I'd like to just explain a few things and how they are done on the site. My friends in real life have no idea what these mean, so, I'm acting as if the new user, or new C-box user has no idea either.

*tackles Silver*; The star-like things around the phrase describe motion or feeling. They can also be done as so;
[tackles Silver]
-tackles Silver-
And yes, as I said, feeling is the same way;
*feels sad*
[feels mad]
-get's glad-

Also, I know that not everyone has a knowledge of chatspeak. In the C-box here, we use more of the abbreviation form of the chatspeak, not the acctually 2day instead of today.
---- 'lol' is short for 'laugh out loud'.
---- 'rofl' is short for 'rolling on the floor laughing'.
---- 'lmao' is short for 'laughing my a** off'.
---- 'idk' is short for 'I don't know'.
---- 'nbd' is short for 'no big deal'.
---- 'np' is short for 'no problem'.
---- 'omg' is short for 'oh my gosh/goodness'.
---- 'wb' is short for 'welcome back'.
---- 'ily' is short for 'I love you'.
---- 'ttyl' is short for 'talk to you later'.
---- 'ttfn' is short for 'Ta Ta For Now'
---- 'bbs' is short for 'be back soon'.
---- 'bbl' is short for 'be back later'.

Users on here also tend to use a lot of smileys with the ones Arwen has provided us with. We tend to get creative sometimes.

Our C-box also refreshes on it's own, how neat is that?
